GuriKaabe — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
GuriKaabe is a delivery coordination service operated by OPENARMS ALLIANCE LLC ("we"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do not do.
The short version
We collect the minimum needed to bring an order to your door: your phone number, where to deliver, what you asked for, and any photos you choose to attach. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we never see or hold your money.
What we collect
| Data | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Email address (optional) | Only if you add one to receive sign-in codes by email. You confirm it with a code first, and you can remove it at any time. | Until you remove it or your account is deleted |
| Phone number | It is your account. We send a one-time code to confirm you hold it, and the driver uses it to reach you at the door. | While your account exists |
| Delivery location (GPS, optional) and landmark (required) | So a driver can find you. Addresses are unreliable in our service area; the landmark is the primary instruction and the GPS point is an aid. | With the order |
| Order contents and chat messages | To fulfil the order and resolve disputes. | With the order |
| Photos you attach | A reference photo helps the driver find the right item; a delivery-proof photo protects both you and the driver in a dispute. | With the order |
| Payment details (amount, and the transaction number from your mobile-money message, and which wallet you used, if you or our operator enter it) | So our operator can confirm your payment arrived, and so one payment can't be counted for two orders. | With the order |
| Name and phone number, and an email if the admin uses one — drivers and operators only | To create your staff account. We send you a one-time setup code, by text or email, so you can choose your own PIN or password. | While your account exists |
| Photos of an ID, front and back — only if you apply to be a driver or operator | Drivers carry other people's money and goods, so we confirm who they are before issuing an account. | Both images are deleted the moment the application is decided. Never collected from customers. |
We do not collect: your contacts, your location in the background or when the app is closed, your browsing or app activity, advertising identifiers, or any biometric data.
Customers are never asked for an ID. That only applies to people applying to work as a driver or operator, and both images are destroyed as soon as the application is approved or declined — we keep only the fact that it was checked, and who checked it. We do not keep a copy after the decision, so a future breach cannot expose the ID of someone who applied.
Money
We never take custody of your money. Payment goes directly from you to the merchant's mobile-money account using your own phone's dialer. We do not process the payment, hold a balance, or store card or bank details. Our operator checks that your payment reached the merchant, then marks your order paid. Refunds are arranged directly and off-platform.
How your data is used and shared
Your order is visible to:
- you, on the number you verified;
- the driver assigned to your order, and only while assigned — a driver cannot see orders that aren't theirs;
- our operators, who coordinate deliveries and resolve payment problems.
Text messages and email. Login and setup codes are delivered by Twilio, by SMS or, if you chose it, by email through Twilio SendGrid. It receives your phone number or email and the text of the message (which contains the code) only to deliver it, and nothing else about you or your orders.
Apart from that, we share data with no one else. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. We may disclose information if legally compelled, or where necessary to prevent fraud or harm.
Where your data lives
On servers we operate ourselves at Vultr, in Frankfurt, Germany, including your photos, which are stored on the same servers rather than with a cloud photo service. Text messages and emails pass through Twilio, which may process them outside your country. The service does not use third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access to an order is checked on every request against the phone number you verified. Login codes, setup codes, driver PINs and staff passwords are stored only as salted hashes — never in a readable form. Staff choose their own PIN or password; nobody at GuriKaabe ever knows it. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not collect data we don't need, which is the most effective protection available.
Your choices and rights
- Location and camera are optional and asked for only at the moment they're used. You can decline and still order using a landmark; you can decline the camera and order without a photo.
- Access or deletion: contact us at gurikaabe@gmail.com and we will provide a copy of your data or delete your account. We may retain payment and delivery records where required for accounting, dispute resolution or legal compliance.
- Withdrawing consent: stop using the app and request deletion.
Retention
Order records, including chat and photos, are kept while your account is active and for a period afterwards for dispute resolution and accounting — 24 months. Login codes are deleted once used or after 5 minutes; staff setup codes once used or after 24 hours.
Children
GuriKaabe is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
